Who to Contact

Let’s Talk Who to Contact

Most people at some point or another in their PCS process and experience may have something negative happen. The knee jerk reaction cannot ALWAYS be “call your congressman.”

Like with everything in the military there is a process or chain of command.

When an issue arises in your PCS, start with the lowest level and work your way up.

        1) Move Coordinator from your TSP

        2) Local Transportation Office

        3) JPPSO

        4) Service Branch Personal Property Office

        5) Transcom Hotline

Additionally, if your move coordinator is not giving you what you need you can request to speak with their supervisor, or the supervisor's supervisor.

As you may or may not know, the admins of this group also work directly with Transcom and the service branches. When a severe/extreme issue arises we are happy to help you navigate the process and connect you with who can fix the issue.

Yes, there may be times when contacting your elected representatives may be needed. But when you do this they are going to ask what steps you have tried to take to seek answers and where in the process the problem lies. You want to be able to show your due diligence that you worked through the system and be able to identify where the system failed.

With that, when a congressional is filed, we can no longer reach out through our channels to assist, and the services can no longer address your issues directly with you - it comes to full stop as they go thru the congressional response process which can cause more delay to your move.

I am not saying to never contact your representatives. I am only asking that you first make an effort through the process as it is designed before reaching outside of that.
