PCS Pep Talk

PCS PEP TALK

I’ve seen the worried posts, comments and messages, so I’m putting this out there for everyone. If you need a PCS pep talk, this is it -

Hey Friend,

Do me a favor ok? Close your eyes. Take a deep breath. Roll your shoulders back. Roll your neck in a circle and stretch it side to side.

Take another deep breath.

Perfect.

Listen, you got this. You CAN do this. I know, this group says do all the things, and before you know it you realize you’re short on time, and the panic sets it. But let me tell you, you do not need to run yourself ragged trying to do all the damn things. You don’t need too.

It’s not all necessary.

Go get a piece of paper and a pen. Now write down what tour “Must Do’s” are. You Must pack your things going with you in the plane/car. You must pack your other valuable items going with you. You must cancel utilities, monthly subscriptions, and schedule the carpet cleaner. write down whatever is a priority and something that must do.

Now get another piece of paper and write down your “want to do list”. You want to prepack items. You want to put all the paper clips in ziplock bags. You want to dust everything and vacuum the couch. You want color coded unicorn glitter happiness preparedness.

Write down anything that you would like to do if you have time.

Great. Now your job is to work thru the Must Do list. So, when you hit your PCS wall, and you feel done and you no longer have a care left to give, you can take a breath because you have finished the priority list. If you still have time or energy, then you can work down you want to do list as extra bonus gravy.

It’s ok to not do all of the things.

You do not need to do all of the things.

Whatever you get done in your prep is enough.

Do not run yourself exhausted.

Moving sucks.

Preparing for moving sucks.

But you got this. And we got you.

Now go be freakin amazing!
