Expectations for Pack/Load Days
Let’s Talk Expectations to Pack/Load Days

Your crew should arrive between 0800 and 5pm. You should be notified the day before on a window for arrival.
Packing Days- Your home should be prepared for everything to be packed. The saying of “if it’s out it will be packed” is very true. Anything you don’t want packed should be moved to a locked room or put into your locked car.

During the process you will need to be available. There will be questions, clarification needed, and you will also need to check on what is going on, double check rooms when done, and be a presence. I do a lot of small talk and awkward watching of what they do. Learn to be ok with the awkwardness!

Double check every closet, drawer, and cabinet possible. Sometimes things get overlooked. Anything that is in an attic, crawl space or on shelves that a person cannot reach when standing will require you to pull the items down for them.
You also will need to double check your boxes to make sure your last name is spelled right, and the contents descriptions are accurate.

On packing days, you will fill out the HV inventory, and you will also have an inventory of your Boxes made as well. (See Inventory Post Previously Made)

Load Days- Your crew should arrive in the morning. The driver/lead should start with making an inventory of the furniture items. On this inventory they will be marking damage assessment codes for the current condition of your furniture. If there is anything on here that you do not agree with you can mark on it that you do not agree.

Once again you will need to double check each room and closet as they empty them to ensure everything is removed from the home.

At the end of the day there will be paperwork! Double check ALL inventories before signing. Do not rush through this. Your signature is your agreement that everything on the inventory is true and accurate. Anything broken before moving or damage done to property (dents to walls, scratches to floor, etc.) should be noted on the correct forms.
