High Value Inventories

Let’s talk High Value Inventories

A High value inventory allows you to have items specifically listed on the inventory that is generally hard to replace or irreplaceable. Now, some companies will let your write anything you want on the list, others will hold to the regulation.

The Claim Liability Business Rules (on the resource page) addresses what should go on the Hv list. Anything that is hard to replace, irreplaceable, crystal, China, electronics, collections, or antiques can be included on the HV inventory.  Keep in mind that some electronics do need to be on the HV inventory. Items like TVs and game systems can be listed on the regular household goods inventory with the make, model, size, and serial number.

I always suggest that if you antiques or an extensive collection you should have an appraisal done.

On the HV form your items should be listed in as much detail as possible:

- 12 X Waterford Crystal Lismore Wine Goblets

- 6 X 5pc Mikasa Stardust Platinum Place Settings

- Nintendo Switch Legends of Zelda Bundle- includes Breath of the Wild Game and Controller

- 17 Xbox 1 games (itemized list can be provided)

You should have make/brand/manufacturer, model/design/pattern, colors, quantity, electronic specs, anything that makes the item as identifiable as possible listed on the inventory.

When your HV items are packed the box number should be listed on the HV inventory. Additionally, sticker seals should be used on the boxes as well.

On delivery day it is important that you check off all numbers of your items as they come off the truck. Doing so will allow you to identify any missing boxes/items.

On delivery day you will need to open and inspect your HV items for any damage. Anything missing or damaged needs to be noted on delivery day on the “Loss or Damage at Delivery” form BEFORE signing the destination part of the high value inventory or your claim will denied. HV items are the only things that need to be identified on delivery day as loss or damage.
