Delivery Day Expectations
Let’s Talk - Delivery Day Expectations

The day has finally come when your HHGs will be delivered! Just like pack and load days it can quickly become a chaotic scene.
Here’s what you should expect:
Before delivery you should get an idea of where you want your furniture to go. When your crew arrives, you should give them a tour and explain where you want items to go.
Pro Tip: have a sign on each door that labels what that room is (girls' room, boys' room, office, etc.), and what furniture goes in that room. It will make traffic directing much easier.
It is important that you check off inventory numbers as the items come off the truck. This will help you identify if anything is missing.
Any High Value Inventory items should be open and inspected on the day of. If you sign the inventory before checking then you waive the ability to file a claim on them. (See Our “Let’s Talk High Value” Post)
Anything that is missing or noticeably damaged (usually furniture items for damage) should be noted on the “Notification of Loss or Damage at Delivery” form. It’s important to note this form is not conclusive and as long as you make your claim within the designated timeframe the TSP is liable.
If you request a partial or impartial unpack, any empty boxes and paper should be removed from the home on the day of delivery. TSPs are no longer required to come pick up empty boxes later, however some do provide this service as a courtesy.
Anything that was disassembled at origin should be reassembled at destination.
If you run into any issues or have questions during the delivery process you should contact your move coordinator from your assigned TSP and/or your local transportation office.
