Household Goods Inventory
Let’s talk Household Goods Inventory -

You will end up with at least 2 of these for a regular shipment- 1 will be for the boxes items, and 1 will be for the furniture or lose packed items. If you have a UB or NTS shipment then you will also have inventories for those as well.

Important things to note:

The blue section below is where they will list the box size or carton type (such a a tote), and who packed it. In the example below you will see CP which Carrier Packed and PBO which is Packed By Owner. PBO is no longer allowed on the inventory forms since the company is liable for everything they take possession of regardless of who packed it.

The red section below is where you will find the current conditions of your items (mostly used on the furniture inventory). You will see a series of numbers and letters that looks like some secret spy code. These letters and numbers correspond to the key on top as to what they mean. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU TAKE THE TIME TO REVIEW YOUR INVENTORY AND THESE CODES
When you sign the inventory you are agreeing to these codes, and the conditions noted.

You can note on the inventory anything that you do not agree with before signing it.
The column between the red and blue is where the contents of the boxes will or the furniture item will be listed. Obviously not every item in the box will be listed. But this is where it needs to state “PB 3 seat blue couch” and not just “couch”.
This inventory when provided to you should be near and legible as outlined in the DTR. When they start making it take a glance, and if you cannot read the writing ask them to stop and start over. It is best to catch this at the beginning of the process.
